We have do many festivals happening this month. First we had Dusshera, then Karwa Chauth yesterday. Now Diwali is coming. Yet this year, my finances are not in good shape. Some expenses shoot up during the festivals. I have to keep a close tab and at times feel stressed.
Some people say that festivals are meant to be enjoyed but how can one do if finances are tight?
Well in a way I am just trying to get through and as for joy, forget about it!!

That is true. You need money to enjoy the occasion. You may not believe it but I save money starting in January for my Christmas spending.

@Alexandoy yes that is the best way. My problem is not only about myself but due to some historical legacies.
And some events that led to spikes in certain areas and I could not save during those times.

@LadyDuck the problem is that even some average looking expenses are pinching this month and the people around me sometimes do not understand it or it can be hard to have them understand.

@Ladanger some of the things are mandatory, so have social implications, so unavoidable and that adds to the stress.

@Ladanger
It is a bit tough as I also have a problem of overall incoming earnings as well. But yes, I need to still save more.

Same situation with us in Christmas and New year eve.. we always worried ... but as long as all the family members are around we can make it special with small budget also..
Earlier days we love shopping for christmas but nowadays we stop buying new clothes, new shoes etc except the food item that we need on festival days and little decoration

Yeah but at times, life can be quite hard. And now a days, it is money that helps us achieve most of the things.
Thanks for responding.

@RasmaSandra the problem is that mind is so occupied with how to manage various expenses that the thoughts of joy vanish altogether.
