For those of you familiar with Nanowriimo, you will know that in 1999 the idea of trying to get as many people as possible to write 50k words or more in thirty days was born, so November became National Novel Writing Month, and we spend time with in October prepping for that, I am happy to say I now have a grasp of my Nano project, it takes place in part in the nineties, so nineties that Ace Of Base I Saw the Sign was playing on the radio, thanks to myself I am now going to have that song in my head, but the book deals with a young woman, a High School Senior who becomes the victim of a drive by. She is in no way affiliated with gangs, but of course bullets do not have names.
Yes I have some familiarity with gangs, though I was never in one, I did know a girl who had been hurt by a gang, shot I believe, but unfortunately I lost contact with her after life moved us in different directions.
I have an idea that the M.C is going to use what happened to her as a bridge to helping hers though I’m not quite sure where this is going to go, at least I have four pages of ideas mapped out though!

This is the first time I've heard of a national novel writing month which I think is good for the youngsters to be encouraged to write.

It’s for people of all ages but they do have a program geared towards young writers as well!

Sounds like a great story idea, hope you have a good time writing it next month! I should do NaNoWriMo...but I never am able to stick with it.

I do my best to break it up into chunks, it seems to work best for me, taking it piece by piece...
