Apple Day Count Your Buttons Day 1824 - Portland cement is patented. 1879 - Thomas Edison applies for a patent for his design for an incandescent light bulb. 1942 - Judy Sheindlin was born. She is an American judge, television host and author. 1965-1982 she was an attorney, 1982-1996 she was a judge; and from 1996 to the present she has starred in her own courtroom show "Judge Judy". 9-10 million viewers tune in each day to this 4-time Daytime Emmy award-winning courtroom show series. Sheindlin works approximately 52 days a year and is said to be worth $500 million. 1956 - Carrie Fisher was born. She was an American actress, comedian and author. She is best known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars films. Some of her other movies: Shampoo, Blues Brothers, Hannah and Her Sisters, The 'Burbs, When Harry Met Sally, Soapdish and The Women. She died in 2016. Photo Credit: Pixabay
