For many years my only way to learn about the rest of the world was to listen to the news in the media.
I found out that many news did not reach me emotionally because they were too far away.
There were many countries that were almost a void and I had to google them to learn a bit about them.
That, until I became a member of mylot. If there is now a hurricane or a typhoon, I wonder if some of my friends there are safe. When they have a holiday, I want to know what it is. When they talk about their food, I immediately want to know if I would like it or not.
In this moment of problems in my country, I can see that many of my friends are interested in them because they know me. I want to thank mylot as I thanked the friends of the old mylot when they asked me how they could help when we had the big earthquake in February 27, 2010.

I feel the same way. I remember that I never really understood about typhoons in the Philippines until I had friends from there at mylot.

@marguicha Typhoons is very common here in my country and I'm already used to it haha 
I am not afraid of typhoons as we can still prepare before it landfalls and if we stay in at least 2-storey good concrete house nothing to worry about except for power failures etc not like earthquakes it is more scary.

The first time I was aware of a typhoon was when I was at mylot and the Yolanda hit your country.

I agree with you. Mylot is indeed much more than a newspaper. We came across people whom we didn't know before. We know how their lives are, their government the way they live and so on. The best thing is, we found friends all over the world through Mylot. Isn´t it great?

There is such a great opportunity for sharing ideas, customs, news and friendships on this site. I know more about people in other countries than I ever did...and I have friends from around the world. How special is that???

Indeed, I agree with you, myLot is a really good and interesting website where you can share whatever you want, whenever you want and wherever you want, just through the internet, and the biggest thing which makes the website more interesting is that you can have friends all over the world and also knowing them, their condition, place, and so much more.
