The view from my desk.

Do you see what I see? I don't watch much TV, but when I do, I watch intensely. Mostly it's sports. But I don't care about sports as much as I used to. The speakers in the foreground are 1970ish Acoustic Rsearch AR-2AXs. I hope to have them refinished within a coupe of weeks. The surfaces you see have been sanded down and are almost ready for oil. Why would I spend hours on something that will earn me "tens of dollars" in the long run? Do you have something that you're so passionate about, you're willing to accept less than you're worth for the outcome?

Well, that would be my writing, Right now I am a very struggling writer but writing is what makes me happy so every day here I am typing away and happy for every compliment, every published article, and every penny that comes my way.

@TheHorse I totally agree and for you, it all makes a nice blend because you also have your music. Right now there are problems on another site and it looks like there might be bad times ahead and I would hate to see that happen because I enjoy both this site and that and these are an outlet for my writing and with my content writing it is great to also have friendly sites to relax on

@RasmaSandra What is the other site? I tend to devote myself to one at a time. The best site I've written on is Epininons.com. It was an active community, as is the case here, but they paid really well.

For me (and you too, I'd bet) the greatest reward is the interaction--the feeling of connection--I get here. I'm not a "lonely guy," but I'd miss my MyLot friends if it suddenly went away.

I write to fan fictions of DeviantArt and Archive Of Our Own using stories from the Warner Brothers cartoons that aired before I was born.

@TheHorse I write fan fictions to get the bad taste of my mouth seeing my favorite characters get the short end of the line.

@Deepizzaguy You mean like this? (imagine picture of Wiley Coyote eating Roadrunner--I couldn't find a good one.)

I don't know what I'm worth. I know what others are worth to me, and I try to make sure they know I think they're worth it to me. Like you.

In one of your comments, you called me one of your favrite MyLotters, or something like that. I've never forgotten it, and the feeling is mutual. I actually think there's a shortage (in ths world) of letting others know how much we appreciate them.

I think many hobbies and pastimes pay very little but if you love what you're doing, you don't really mind.

Writing is the first thing that comes to mind. Many of us do a lot of writing for very little return.

MyLot is fun. Of course, the money is appreciated, but it has to come second.

Yes I have. I guess when we're passionate about something, money and remuneration come second.

@TheHorse I thought I did find something I was passionate about but circumstances said otherwise.
