Scott County Fire Battalion Chief Craig Wink is pointing out to all homeowners in the Stamping Ground Kentucky region and beyond the importance of every home to have a smoke alarm installed inside the home since they save lives. A house fire that happened in a home in Stamping Ground Kentucky earlier today could have had serious consequences to a male homeowner and his pet dog who were sound asleep around 3:15am when the home caught fire in a teenager's bedroom. The homeowner as soon as he saw the house on fire, called 911 to report the fire to the local fire department. The good news of this bittersweet story is that the homeowner and his dog were able to escape the burning home without suffering any injuries to himself and his dog. The teenager who lives with the homeowner was not home at the time of the fire which destroyed the building which is the sad part of this story, The authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire. Even though the homeowner lost his home, he will likely get some help from a local charity and his community to find him a temporary home.

The loss was bad. But nothing is more important than life.

You are correct since a house can be rebuilt. A life cannot be replaced.

@amitkokiladitya It will be a rough road waiting for the new home to rebuilt. Not to mention the moving to another home is going to be stressful.

@Deepizzaguy I am so glad they were able to escape and that the teenager was not home when that happened.

Smoke alarms are wonderful to wake up humans and animals when they are asleep overnight.
