Happy birthday for Carolina.

Tomorrow is Carolina´s birthday. My eldest granddaughter is going to be 29 years old and besides talking with her about the possibility of getting together at tea time, I think about having such a big granddaughter. 29 years ago, my daughter asked me how did I want to be called by the baby. I thought for a second and decided that, in spite of me being only 45 years old then, the baby would find me a very old lady. So Grandma it was. As it was, Carolina was born a wrinkled almost white haired long legged baby. I saw her minutes after she was born and all I could think was "how ugly she is". 29 years later, she is a lovely and beautiful tall young woman. Her hair and eyes are light brown and she must not think that I´m too old because often she calls me or messages me to ask if she can visit me. She did well in her studies and now she is working in what she likes. As it happens often in her generation, she doesn´t have plans of getting married. But she has a cat that she saved years ago from impending death. Happy birthday, dear Carolina. I´m proud to be your grandma.
