Our rooms are haunted! We aren't staying here no more!

It is 1834 and four men have decided they could abide by it no longer. They marched themselves to the local magistrate in Bristol, UK and requested to be let off of their leases. The men, and one lady, were convinced that they had seen a ghost.
The magistrate, not believing in such things himself, tried to convince them that they were mistaken, but they wouldn't believe it. Either way, the magistrate could do nothing for them and they were required to stay on living at the house.
Above is my summary of one of the stories from the below link.
I've experienced my own hauntings, as I am sure a few of you have as well. I thought this was an interesting topic for the time of the year.

We had weird phenomena happening in the old house of my great grandfather, the house was built in mid 1700. That was not my only experience. I hear footsteps time by time in our home, my husband told me that he also heard the footsteps and some strange noises during the night. I wonder who could be.

@LadyDuck Oh wow, I do not think I would like to go to the basement alone after that. Was your basement once a food cellar? or part of a food cellar?

@LadyDuck By walk-out basement you mean a basement that can be accessed by the outdoors?
The light seems very strange, and you've not seen it since?

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yes, the house of my great grandfather is still there, I do not know who lives inside. I do not remember when the footsteps started, but I am sure that it was after 2006, when we settled here to live all the year round. I have seen a light in the basement one night. I went down because I thought I forgot the light on, when I was downstairs I saw a sort of column of light in the middle of the room that faded and disappeared. I got a big fright that time.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Weird phenomena are all things we cannot explain.

@marguicha Yes, this is true. Not just what people might think of as a ghost or spirit, but what might occur in the sky, or in the weather patterns that is abnornal.
What I refer to is more like unexplained noises that could be spiritual.

I guess they had to, or else continue paying for their rooms and find another place to live.

No, I have had a few experiences that I've talked about over the years here though.
I was once living in a house and out of the corner of my eye (in the mirror) I saw two children in tweed like clothing, both looking sickly and / or starving.

@Alexandoy I felt more sad than anything. Like this overwhelming sense of sadness came over me, but also a little fear. In this same house, maybe a month later, i would be lying in my bed and hear the sound of feet running towards me. An overwhelming sense of fear washed over me then.

That would be a lot of fun. We have one of those not too far from a friend's house. I've never actually been to one though, because I scare easily and it would just be me screaming and my friends laughing.

@ScribbledAdNauseum There's a lighthouse in Pensacola (the city I lived before moving out here), and I did the tour of it with Grant and Jason from Ghost Hunters years ago.
theres a haunted tour floating around facebook right now thats in tennessee or somewhere where you have to pass a physical, sign waivers adn everything just to do it. But if you make it through you get $20,000.
I wanna go to the Winchester house so abd.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Kelli (from here) took her kids thre for a halloween thing last night. I thought that was super cool. Id love to go there, and since reading some of the books that take place in abandoned insanse asylums, I would love to go to some of those.
