The really silly and dangerous lady driver

Mum, my sister and I are in the car driving along Kent lanes. We find ourselves behind an open top sports car. The lady driving it is wearing a hat and drivng really slowly. Every so often she gets even slower as she is hanging on to her very large hat. This goes on for miles. We cannot overtake as there are white lines or bends. There is silly, but this was just plain stupid and dangerous and one wonders where the lady escaped from...

I really can't see the point of these types of cars. Mostly your hair gets blown to bits or your face gets windburn.

No, I would not want one either, but if I was given one, I might not turn it down. I would not wear a hat and keep the hood up!

That is to say,she was driving with one hand on the steering wheel and the other grasping her hat.She was risking her life !

I think she needs to change her hat. I hope she is aware of it by now.

@jackalyn Ladies should really have to apply for a licence to wear big floppy hats. They are a menace on all occasions, especially to those sitting behind them in Church. And while driving in open too cars.

Now I am gigglling. Mostly these days it is a kind of headress that goes with African clothing. They are lovely but can limit the view as much as a floppy hat. I would still love to wear one but have never had the courage. Floppy hats are for the sun, weddings and the beac in my book. I do possess one and currently it is hanging on my bedroom wall as a decoration.

There is not one. It was country lanes. One lane each way for all traffic.

@Hannihar I quite like driving down country lanes myself. Where I live there are many.

@Jackalyn One lane each way for traffic is not fun.

It'd have been more dangerous if she was speeding

No...both are dangerous as the blocking of the road tempts the car behind to take a risk overtaking.

@evans777 We did and were ignored for miles. We flashed, honked, all to no avail.

It was both. We couldn't work out whether it was some kind of idiotic stunt or the person was seriously stupitd.
