Hey, didn’t I just use this song the other day? Same title, different song. This particular song in my list of ten favorites with “travel” in the title is the one JJ wanted the other day. All he had to do was wait.....
#5: Travelin’ Man - Bob Seger
Fitting that he shows up today. Bob Seger’s career as a “travelin’ man” ended over the weekend, after over 50 years on the road. He did his final concert on his farewell tour. I saw him twice (1980 and 1986), and man did that guy put on a show!
This isn’t his only song about the road (I used his classic “Turn the Page” in my list of songs about musicians on the road). It’s one of his great mid-tempo songs that shows Seger could do it all.
Happy retirement from the road, Bob.

He retired from touring. He just finished his farewell tour. He might do a one-off show, but the tours are done.
