National Cappuccino Day Cook Something Bold Day 1895 - While experimenting with electricity, Wilhelm Rontgen discovers the X-ray. 1972 - HBO launches its programming. 1947 - Minnie Riperton was born. She was an African American singer and songwriter. She is best known for her 1975 hit single "Lovin' You" (below) which highlighted her five-octave coloratura soprano range. She died in 1979. 1966 - Gordon Ramsey was born. He is a British chef, restaurateur, author, writer, food critic and television host/personality. He was born in Scotland and raised in England. His restaurants currently hold a total of 7 Michelin stars. Some of his television programs: Hell's Kitchen, Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares, MasterChef, MasterChef Junior and Hotel Hell.
