A Persian Gulf War veteran who has no transportation to his doctor's appointment in Huntsville Alabama from Jasper. The war veteran was walking on a road when a Morgan County deputy saw the veteran walking with an oxygen tank. Since the Morgan County deputy could only take the veteran to the county line, the man was then taken by a deputy at the Cullman County to the next county where a deputy from Madison County would take the veteran to his appointment in Huntsville. Thanks to the cooperation of the deputies of three counties, a war veteran was able to get to his doctor's appointment on time. The deputies of all of the counties from Huntsville to Jasper mentioned that it would be their pleasure to take him back home the next day since they respect the sacrifices that soldiers go through in the war against terrorism. Not to second guess the police in this matter. Don't you think that an Alabama State Police Officer would have taken the veteran yo his doctor's appointment since the state is their jurisdiction?

The police officers will likely be given some kind of service award from their superiors.

Despite what the media likes to report about how bleak things are worldwide, they are a lot of good people in our world ready to lend a hand to someone in need.

Maybe it's not allowed. What the deputies did was a great gesture of kindness.

The reason county police officers are not allowed to go into other counties is due to jurisdiction rules in their departments.
