Yesterday I found myself near a Cold Stone Creamery. I don't remember having ever tried it, so I thought I'd splurge. Review? Thumbs down from me. Cold Stone Creamery makes premium ice cream with a lot of butterfat. It's also not the normal consistency of ice cream, falling somewhere past soft serve. Truthfully, it looked like a mixture of cake frosting and pudding more than the typical ice cream you see in a store like Baskin-Robbins. I asked for a taste of cookie dough. I didn't find any flavor to it at all. The mint sample, however, did send soothing tingles in my nose, so I got a cup of it. Overpriced (nearly $4 for a small cup, and extra for more than one topping), and under-flavored. The consistency is something you have to get over, too. Today I went by to Orange Leaf to have my trusty standby (cinnamon roll yogurt). Much cheaper, more flavor....and probably a little better for me because it's not loaded with the butterfat that Cold Stone uses. Lots of people like Cold Stone Creamery. It just isn't for me. If you're gonna talk ice cream, there's only one song.....
