Getting out winter clothes

Every year I take the warmest clothes out of the drawers or closet and wash them all before wearing them, because no matter how clean they are when I store them, they always smell like mold, or are itchy or something. Today, Wednesday, I will wash a bunch of long-sleeved winter undershirts, because pretty soon it will be "cold" here.
However, it's not cold like most of you are talking about. "Cold" in Tokyo is above zero degrees Celsius, which is 32 F. Today it got to about 16C, which is mild fall temperature. But you never know. Now that it's November I will need to be thinking about long underwear!
Do you wash your clothes for the coming season after storage or do you just wear them?

@petatonicsca Yes, I think it needs to be washed because sometimes our clothes stand for months.

Japan is very humid and you just can't keep it out.

I wear shorts and short sleeved shirts all year round except maybe like tonight when it will be 'cold'--in the 60sF!! We really don't have 'winter' clothes!

Yeah, well, all those Florida people.
I have several friends from or living in Florida. How are the mosquitoes where you live?

Yes, some years it gets cold before I think about it.
