Last night my high school select choir and I and the director (I play piano) participated in an international school charity concert. The charity that we were collecting money for works with refugees in many different countries. We had choirs, a handbell choir and jazz band from five international schools plus an opera singer who was a graduate of one of those schools. Also, two students read stories of refugees who have been helped by the charity group. It was a very nice concert.
Do you ever do any activities to collect money for charity?

No, I only give money to charities, I haven't been collecting since I was a child.
I'd participate if the school did something, this year I totally forgot to order biscuits for the "Operation a Day's work". One day a year nearly all schools in Norway have the pupils collect money for some charity, usually one that works with children. Some of the autistic children and other children with learning difficulties at my school can't be sent out to search for a one day job, so they make things in school instead. This year it was chocolate cookies. I might see if there some left next week

That's a nice way to do it. Yum, chocolate cookies. Also, good for the learning disabled kids to be able to help.

@petatonicsca They make quite a lot of different things and usually have a Christmas market, so I'm hoping I can get some of the things they make to help start fires (for the fireplace) this year.

A few years already I support some poor people and ill children directly without adding my donation to a common bucket.
