Insomnia Cookies. So, like I've probably bored some of you with before, in an entirely strange move I decided that I wanted to host a late night music show at my local college radio station. from 10PM until 2 AM I play music in the basement of a college building. So that means I'm driving home at early morning hours by campus. Enter "Insomnia Cookies" This chain has a catchy logo featuring a cookie shaped like a crescent moon. I decided I was curious enough to try it, noticing that it was one of the only things open on my trek home.
I went in the store and was greeted by the most delicious scent of freshly baked cookies.
The store itself was sparsely decorated. Purple walls, which I approve of, a couple of tables, a cooler with water and milk, an ice cream chest and cookies. That is all they sell. They have only a handful of cookies, and of those I've tried I've only been really impressed with the sugar cookie, which is my favorite anyway.
The cookies are served in a pizza style box if you order enough, or a wax paper bag if you have only 1 or 2.
They are expensive though at around $2 each.
They offer delivery service and I wonder if it is really that popular.
Now compare with my first experience with "ready to bake" sugar cookies. They came in a roll or in a tray pre cut into little squares. I opted for the latter. Plunked them out on my cookie sheet and something like 11 minutes later I had warm freshly baked sugar cookies. I was amused at how the little squares of dough morphed into round cookies.
Now, were the Insomnia ones better? Marginally.
However the cost for the pre-packaged dough was in the neighborhood of $2.50 - for 24 cookies. I think I see more of this in my future :-)

Ha ha! When I was younger and had more energy I would have done something like that.
Oh smart not to heat the house up like you say

@YrNemo My apartment is always warm because I'm above the maintenance room/furnace here, but yes in other situations it is nice to make the house warm

Ah yes. That's my problem too. I've been hankering for cookies - but I don't want 24 sitting around. I will eat them

@FayeHazel I can understand that.

. I did that sometimes, baking at 2AM (sometimes because the weather for the next day would be too unfavorable for any oven usage.
