Sorry, the mussels are already empty when I took a photo. I forgot to take a photo of the mussels before eating.
I was not contented of the taste of these mussels as I forgot to buy ginger root. I always use ginger root in cooking this food and of course lemongrass as well. Instead of the fresh ginger root slices and lemongrass, I used ginger and lemongrass powder. Well, my son said that it was still delicious and we both ate them all.
How do you prepare your mussels? Do you cook it Filipino, Italian or Spanish way? I have tried it with white wine in the restaurant but I still prefer my homemade Filipino mussels.
Thank you and enjoy your Friday.

Baked tahong with melted cheese is something that in my mind is yummy but I don't eat this type of seashells.

@thelme55 "It is not safe to eat bivalves (clams, mussels and oysters) from red tide areas because they are filter-feeders and the toxins are absorbed into their tissues. Remember, cooking does not destroy red tide toxins."

That sounds good @TiarasOceanView. I saute first the onions, garlic and ginger in a heated olive oil then put the mussels in it with a little water. Wait until boiling and add salt and pepper to taste. Sometimes, I add moringa leaves in it.
