Mom came home from a visit with these given to her. It's crazy because I haven't seen this in a while.
This can be useful at the heat of the sun. Yup I'm going to use this soon specially doing some sealing on the roof.
But from what I've heard, this was used by farmers on the fields.

Yes most of the farmers usually use this kind of hat to protect them from the heat of the sun. I think there are less and less people who are attracted to buy them because there are many other hats available nowadays in the market. They would rather use the clothe ones than this one because if your living here in the city that one is pretty outdated or out fashioned already. But if you are gonna use that in your repair of your roof that may come in handy and useful for you.

We call that hat Balanggot and it is used by the farmers in the rural farms.

yes, that would be very helpful if you're working on the roof. a lot of vendors here wear wide-brimmed hats like that - the fish vendor, fruit vendor and veggie vendor that drop by our house, the ice cream vendor, the taho vendor. it offers more shade than a baseball cap.
