Good morning everyone! I imagine that there are some of you that are cooking and baking away!
My husband was cooking until about midnight last night. He made some sweet potatoes and baked a frozen pumpkin pie. Then, because he had defrosted some ground beef, he made my recipe for tamale pie. It took him forever because he didn't have the ingredients pulled beforehand and was looking for spices, etc. in the pantry.
My husband went to the grocery store and picked up the Thanksgiving dinner that we had ordered: turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing and rolls. We will add the sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce and corn souffle. We had a Mrs. Callender's Lemon Meringue Pie in the freezer (yum!); but didn't have room in the refrigerator.
I don't know what time we'll eat; and we will probably watch some football today.
Hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed day. If you are traveling, please drive safely. I know some of you have had a big s**w storm!
It's cold here today (in the 30s); but there's no precipitation.

I did all my preparation and cooking yesterday so that I could just relax and enjoy the day today. Unfortunately, I had to make three different trips to the grocery store yesterday, and it was an absolute madhouse! But I survived. Really looking forward to digging in to all that delicious food today!
I hope you and your family have a very wonderful and happy Thanksgiving!

My husband had TWO things to remember at the grocery store. The turkey dinner and extra turkey parts. We went over it 1/2 dozen times. He goes to the grocery store and forgets to stop at the meat department to pick up the turkey parts; sooooo, he had to make another trip to the overcrowded store. Thanks, Jeff.

If Tony had still been here we had planned to buy a dinner already cooked too.

It was really sub-par this year. Didn't come close to homemade.
