We have all had our annual Thanksgiving. But, do you know who to thank for there being this holiday? Her name is Sarah Josepha Hale, she also wrote the nursery rhyme "Mary Had a Little Lamb". She was dedicated to making Thanksgiving a national holiday that she felt would establish a great festival that would unite America. She wrote letters to five different presidents and for 17 years campaigned to get this holiday declared a national holiday. Thank you Sarah!

It's a bit of history I was unaware of! I also did not realize there was a name/author for that nursery rhyme.
