The holiday weekend is almost over. Tomorrow people go back to work....and buy more online. As Warren Zevon once sang, “You buy everything you want, and then you want more.” But this isn’t about any of that. It’s about songs with “street” in the title, part four of my countdown series dealing with travel kinda things in songs. Here’s a sort of surprise....I suppose a lot of people thought the band would be on this list. They are, just not the song you were thinking. #8: Toulouse Street - Doobie Brothers What? No “Takin’ It to the Streets”? Hey, I ain’t blind and I don’t like what I think I see! Nope, gotta go with the other “street” song that became an album title by the soon-to-be Rock and Roll Hall of Famers (they’d better be!) the Doobie Brothers. What kind of name is that for a band? If they were so good, they would be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Oh, wait a minute....they are so good.

If the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were as efficient as they should be the Doobies would’ve been inducted the first year they were eligible.....

Interesting choice! Guess when it comes to the Doobies you prefer a one-way street.
