Hey everyone, hope you are all doing well!
I know I have not posted my food/health journey posts for quite a while now. I haven't been too good lately. I have been trying to do my best, but I have not been sticking to my low carb diet the past month +
I want to do better in December, but I do know that I won't be low carb the entire month.
I do have plans for the new year though. I really need to buckle down. I need to start working out daily, stick to low carb (EXCEPT for shopping day and if there is a special occasion). I need to stop taking the whole week off, or month off, around a holiday/birthday. I need to also start cooking more meals at home. I will come up with a goals list later on in the month but those are things I know I need to get back to.
What did I eat on Monday December 2nd?
Meal 1:
"Low Carb" Quesadilla
- 2 low carb tortillas (5 net carbs each)
1.5 servings taco bell shredded cheese (spicy)
Two Good Vanilla yogurt (3 carbs)
-About 20 net carbs for full meal with yogurt add ins
Meal 2:
Cheeseburger (with bun) - 43 carbs
handful of chips
~55 net carbs or so since I didn't weigh out the chips
Meal 3:
Slim Jim meat stick (4 net carbs, I think)
Caramel cup fat bomb (2 net carbs--again I think)
~6 net carbs
I think I had less than 100 carbs today which is much better than I have been doing. Although once January is here I am going back to 20 net carbs or less.
I have gained a lot of water weight, as is expected with eating carbs. I am sure I will lose it once I go back to 20 carbs or less (maybe some now that I am going to try to stay under 100 carbs as much as possible in December).
Anyways...so how are you doing?

@LindaOHio That's good to hear! I need to think of a menu in case we don't get to go to Christmas dinner.

Best of luck with that, I hope that goes well :) I'd love to lose some of the water weight at least. Hope you enjoy the food at Christmas time :)

As Andrea said. Counting calories might help you, especially this time of year.

Well I think carbs are more important for me to track....because that affects my blood sugar...and the carbs are what make me hold onto salt/water weight. But I do understand.

@MommyOfEli2013 But the lower calorie count will help and lets you still enjoy some goodies while getting through Christmas.

@wolfgirl569 Could be so, but I just can't seem to find the motivation to do that this month....but I am doing low carb when I can.

In January I do, for sure....trying to this month but so far not so good. They did look mostly good that day....but not as good the past 2 days after!

Sounds like you have a good plan for January, sticking to low card during the Holidsys can definitely be hard...

I am doing good, I am still attempting the 1200 calorie, some days I make it some days I don`t, however, I am still losing weight. When I just now weighed I was at 139.4 and my fasting blood sugar was 116.
If I mess up one day I get back the next, I am losing weight slowly but that is okay with me.
I hope you do some calorie counting, its easier this time of the year, you can have some cake and junk, just add it up.

That is good to hear, and that is good to still work on the 1200 calorie plan. That's great you are still losing weight - and they say slow weight loss is best anyways! Great fasting sugar, I think that was mine this morning too!
I will weigh in on here in January, part of my new year plan.
I need to just make my low carb sweets and then I wouldn't have a problem....but when my family wants me to be the baker of holiday sweets it is hard to say no.

By the way while cooking are you also particular in picking oil to cook in order to avoid fat/carbs?

I don't worry about the fats in oils.....but I do worry about the kind of oil because some are bad for you - like canola oil or vegetable oil.
