"King Kong" is a monster adventure movie which was released in 1933. The movie was filmed in stop-motion animation. Rotten Tomatoes has dubbed this movie "the greatest horror film of all time". It opened to rave reviews and pulled in $5.3 million with a budget of $672,000. CAST Fay Wray - Ann Darrow Robert Armstrong - Carl Denham Bruce Cabot - Jack Driscoll Frank Reicher - Captain Englehorn Sam Hardy - Charles Weston Noble Johnson - Native Chief Steve Clemente - Witch King James Flavin - Briggs 2nd Mate It's 1932. In New York Harbor filmmaker Carl Denham charters Captain Englehorn's tramp steamer, the Venture, for his newest adventure. Denham is famous for making wildlife films in remote and exotic locations. He has been unable to find an actress for a female role that he has been reluctant to talk about. His agent, Charles Weston, refuses to recommend anyone because of the dangerous aspects of the expedition. Looking around on the streets of New York City, Denham finds Ann Darrow, unemployed and starving. He pays for the apple that she tried to steal, buys her a meal and then promises her an adventure of a lifetime. He's offering her the lead in the project; she has nothing to lose; so she agrees. Even though I know this movie was done in stop-motion animation...even though I know that this movie was done with some sort of claymation figures...even though I know it's not real...it scares the heck out of me! If you've never seen the 1933 version of King Kong, you simply must watch it. I can see why it was called "the greatest horror movie of all time"...and the ending will probably bring you to tears. This is Grade A entertainment. I highly recommend it. This movie is Not Rated. Photo Credit: Pixabay

Of course I have seen this legendary highly influential screen classic. Aren't the effects amazing for 1933? Better than the "realistic" CGI of today.

I remember that very old movie. Despite not having the spectacular special effects of the most recent ones, it is the one I liked more.
