A stranger convinces a man not to take his own life in New York City

I have to give my respects of doing what is correct in life to 29 year old plumber Joey Hansen who was leaving his job in Manhattan to go his home by crossing the Brooklyn Bridge when he stopped to encourage a 24 year old man who was ready to jump off the bridge and into the river below to end his life. New York Police Department officers were at the scene of the incident trying to talk to the young man not to jump off the bridge when Joey simply told the 24 year young man something to the effect of :Taking his own life is not worth it. He can turn his life around." The words of Joey were powerful enough to convince the man not to take his own life as he turned around from the ledge and walked into the safety of the roadway on the bridge. The New York Police Department officers took the young man to a local hospital to be evaluated for his mental problems. Joey learned that people who want to end their own lives just need some words of encouragement that they can overcome their personal problems that life throws at us.
