Is there nothing else but God? If God is a oneness of himself this might seem to be true.

I have just read about a Religious teaching that claims that, in the end, the only thing that we can say about God, is that there is nothing else but God.
"The darkness is a part of his light too", they claimed.
"Good and evil are truly one," they said too.
"Yeh, right," I thought to myself, "so even the devil is God, that's not right, or is it?"
God is God, and his creation is his creation.
God gives them, his creation, the freedom to choose to be with him, or against him.
It is then their own decision, not God's.
Their subsequent ill-considered actions/decisions affect them, themselves, and all, not with God.
The evil and their decisions never affect God, or the people with him. God stays perfectly as he is with, or without these would-be, non-God following parts, of his creation.
Evil affects nothing but itself, as nothing bad can infiltrate the good that is really good.
Only the pseudo good, with openings for evil to enter, becomes affected/tainted by such evil, otherwise, it remains on the outside just in its own vessel of itself, there to remain forever, because it has created this island to nest itself upon, within the ocean of God.
This might imply that evil is within God, if it is really within his ocean.
But no, it, evil, only thinks that it is so.
The island, in reality, is a virtual island of nothing, only visible to those who can see the darkness because of their lack of light. It is an illusion, not a real part of God, at all.

Does the good really constantly battle the bad? Or to the good is there only itself, the good?

@innertalks that is one question I am not sure how to answer I just know that my belief came of its own and it came from way back when I went to a private Lutheran school and Wednesday was my favorite day because the class went to church and some of the hymns moved me to tears

@RasmaSandra My Mum had that type of faith, but I never have had it. I need to work at my faith, nearly every day, which I do, and keeping close to it, by working at it, works for me too.

Yes, but if we look for badness in God, would we ever find it in him, as a oneness of all else, or is this badness outside of him, and if so, does it exist on its own standing, or with God's consent.
It's the old question, why does a wholly good God have badness existing in his creation?
I think it is about his grant to us of free will, but it's still hard to fully understand.
If we freely choose to follow God, we are saved, but if we exercise the free will in another way, (a bad way) we are punished for our doing so, (eventually, that is), so is the free will, really so free, after all?

Let's try an illustration.
The police put a stop sign at the corner. Are they evil for doing that?
If someone keeps on breaking the law and they lose their licence, are the police evil?
God created life and if there is going to be harmony and peace, he made certain laws. Is there a problem with that? Can we have peace and harmony without laws?
Yes, God gave us a free will. He also gave us a brain to reason on why God does things a certain way.
What do you think?

@innertalks I like the way it is stated here:
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (Amplified Bible) 13 When all has been heard, the end of the matter is: fear God [worship Him with awe-filled reverence, knowing that He is almighty God] and keep His commandments, for this applies to every person. 14 For God will bring every act to judgment, every hidden and secret thing, whether it is good or evil.
There is nothing better in life than to do things God's way. We won't be sorry now, though it might be tough at times, and we we won't, for a certainty, be sorry later.

Great illustration Felix.
Life lives a Godly life of its own until it breaks God's laws, and then life stops working for you, and begins to work against you.
Follow all God's laws and commandments and nothing against you then exists for you, all is for you, and this always must be so.

Those who believe God based on their unwavering faith maintained it that God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Ghost are three separate distinct beings but they're ONE in purpose.

Yes, but is there a fourth self to God, in effect, which would be his creation. Maybe he likes to see himself within the members of his creation too.
God wants to be one in purpose with all of us too.

@innertalks I think no for man by nature is sinful. He's an enemy to God because of his impurity.

@Nakitakona Man wasn't created sinful, but chose to be so, ignorantly at first, but later by conscious choice, which is worse.
