The season of lights...

There are two things that concern me as a person whose blood is saccharine sweet: the strength of my appendages because I love to walk, and the clarity of my vision because I don't ever want to be blind.
Such was the sorrow of two blind men who stalked our Lord Jesus in the Gospel today. They yelled, "Son of David, have pity on us."
I would have yelled, too, if I was blind. And I would have stalked our Lord, too, to regain my vision.
As the story had it, our Lord did restore their sight, all because they believed in Him.
That episode does not just tell us of the healing our faith brings, but more so, that our Lord is the Light that makes us see.
It's twenty days before Christmas. The Lanterns have lit bright the thoroughfares. My neighbors have decorated their front gardens and gates with hundreds of tiny, sparkling lights. Christmas trees everywhere glow blue and gold, red and green, honey-amber and silver.
It's the season of lights. All because our Lord Jesus is our Light.

Nostalgia seeps in when Christmas is just around the corner. I do miss the loved ones who have moved on to the next dimension. I do get mushy.
I sing this.

Thank you for sharing this story of Jesus Christ and the sources of how He healed the sick due to the victims having faith in Him that He would heal them.

My daughter is a doctor. Once, she told me, that healing begins with the faith.
Yes, our afflictions can be healed by our faith in our Lord Jesus, the Great Healer.

@eileenleyva I do remember many ministers saying that it is the belief that Jesus can heal our wounds.

@Deepizzaguy There are many verses in the Old and New Testaments about Healing. The priests quote these verses every time they minister to the sick, or in confession. Two types of condition that needs healing - 1. the physical, and 2. when we are in state of sin.
God heals. He is a merciful God.

Hoping everyone realizes that Christmas lights are meant for us to remember the Birth of our Lord, the Light of the World.

Yes, often lost with all the presents and Santa Claus is the true meaning of Christmas. The birth of our lord Jesus.

Exactly. The party trivia include naming Santa's reindeer, and nobody asks to enumerate the three kings/magi.
Yes, meaning of Christmas is lost in the festivities. Wish we could bring it back.
