The rankings for Be One Of Us, a 50-song countdown of songs with "of" in the title, are entirely random. Because if I were ranking by favorites, this would certainly have placed much, much higher. We are at #20: "Time (Clock of the Heart)" by Culture Club. (A rewrite from memory of an actual letter a girl wrote to SPIN Magazine in the late 80's. So funny that I still crack up over it: "I was really drunk, laying on the couch, when my friend told me to check out the video for "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" on MTV. I saw Boy George and I threw up all over. I haven't drank since.") Anyway, "Time (Clock of the Heart)" was the follow up single to that apparently vomit-inducing classic hit, and performed quite well in it's own right, reaching #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, and #3 in the UK, where it sold over 500,000 copies. In fact, in a fair world, this would be the song Culture Club would be best known for. Face it, Boy George has a very pretty voice, and this beautiful pop tune suits it perfectly. Along with his solo protest song, "No Clause 28," this is the best work George has ever done. (Info verified by Wikipedia)

Really? It was a big hit. Unfortunately, they only seem to play "Do You Really want to Hurt Me" and "Karma Chameleon" on the radio these days.
