Chocolates can expire

This is a reminder for those who stock up on chocolates. They have an expiration date. And although it is still safe to eat even after that date when the chocolate is in the fridge, I wouldn't count on it. For best results, buy and eat within a week. It is not good to buy a lot like what we do because when it is nearing the expiry date, we just have to give away the chocolates instead of being wasted.

In our home, yes, sometimes they last for a month or so. That's why I am trying to formulate a policy again to avoid expired chocolates.

@Alexandoy I never look at the expired date on chocolates as it doesn't usually last that long but even when I do have it long sometimes there is nothing wrong with it. Some I keep in the refrigerator and some in the closet.

@just4him that should be the case for chocolates. It's not good to let it stay for long. At least it will not spoil when inside the stomach, waheehee.

Not really spoiled but when the expiry date had lapsed then there might be a risk. But I believe that if it in the fridge then there would be no problem.

@Alexandoy My chocolate, if I have any, doesn't last very long anyway.

@Alexandoy Many of the chocolates I get has a message saying, "best if eaten by a certain date". It does not say, "must eat" by a certain date. I am still eating candy from Halloween, which was October 31st.

@ramapo17 you are right with that line of Best Eaten date which means it is not spoiled after that date.

It looks like a personal refrigerator to me. Are those chocolates only for you? Chocoloates with nuts are my favorite.

My wife has the habit of buying chocolates but she doesn't eat much so I had to take over. But it is obvious that I couldn't eat that much.

Same with our house when I was younger. My mother would buy and before the day was over, the chocolates were gone with the wind, wahaahaa.

That's what I said to my wife. Buy only the amount that you intend to eat. It's like she's buying as a display for the fridge.
