You need more SB to redeem for lower paypal amounts

On Swagbucks, whenever you redeemed for PayPal cash the minimum was always 2500 SB, which is $25. Now they have lower amounts. There is $10 and $5 ones. I have a little over 1000 SB and thought that I can redeem for $10. Turns out that is not the case. To redeem for $10 you need 1335 SB and not 1000. I have not reached that yet so cannot cash out. I can redeem for $5 but that will cost me 700 SB as opposed to 500 SB. The $25 is the only one that doesn't cost you extra SB. I think I am better off waiting till I reach 2500 SB as I've always done before they had lower redemption amounts. I wonder why they charge us more to redeem for lower amounts.

I think the charging for more isn't new. I don't use the site (and haven't used it all year) but can recall it from last year. I feel like the first redemption of the month is the base price (2500 for $25.00 etc) but every subsequent one costs more.

I've always redeemed for $25 PayPal cash and never once was charged more than 2500 SB for that. The lower amounts are new. They haven't offered it till recently.

@lovebuglena Ah, you are right, I got it confused with something else I think.

It's another method for SB to earn a little more money, each time you redeem your points.

But what's the difference between paying us $25 or $10 or $5? Isn't the PayPal fee the same? And I'd understand requiring us to have more SB to get higher PayPal amounts but for lower ones it makes no sense.

@kobesbuddy Oh yeah. That makes sense. I didn't think of that.

@lovebuglena Actually, there will be more transactions, if a member transfers money every time they earn $5-$10. In comparison when they wait until $25, there will be only one transaction fee. Instead of paying paypal five times for transfers, they only have to pay them once.

That's interesting. I was wondering how the lower cash out option worked on some of the gpt sites. Everything comes with a price tag.

@lovebuglena I guess the good thing about it is that it gives members more options. The more choices there are, the happier the people are; at least sometimes.

@betlynfrnds It is a good thing but I am not a fan of the fact that you have to pay extra SB to cash out for lower amounts.

It's recent that they started offering $10 and $5 redemption amounts.

Haven't used this site in awhile but doesn't surprise me one bit. You probably are better off doing what you've always done.

That is what I am thinking. It is not like I am desperate for ten bucks.

I haven't used Swagbucks in quite some time. The cash-out sites all seem to raise their minimums over time.

Swagbucks didn't raise the minimum for PayPal redemption. You just have to spend extra SB to cash out for lower amounts, which wasn't available before, and it sucks.

It is a site that lets you earn points called SB (swagbucks) for doing different things and then you can redeem those points for gift cards or PayPal cash. You can do surveys, watch videos, discover content online, do offers, search the web, shop online (and now in store) through Swagbucks, dine out, among other things. to earn SB.

@lovebuglena It's nice is it free to join? No investment? Is it worldwide or international?

@Nakitakona It is free to join. Unfortunately, I am not sure which countries can participate. I am sure that info is available on the website somewhere.

I noticed other gift cards that are for low amounts don't charge you extra SB. Puzzled why the PayPal one does.
