Elle Woods, fashion merchandising student, is taken to a fancy, expensive restaurant by her boyfriend and governor's son, Warner Huntington III. She is sure that he is going to propose. Instead, he breaks up with her. He has goals of becoming a senator by the time he's thirty..."I need to marry a Jackie, not a Marilyn". Elle wants to follow him to Harvard Law School and win him back. She scores a 179 on the Law School Admission Test after much studying; and with her 4.0 GPA, she gets admitted to Harvard along with Warner.
Elle is a fish out of water at Harvard. She's from Southern California; and her classmates are from the East Coast and don't take her seriously. When Elle runs into Warner he wants to know how she got into Harvard..."Like it's hard!" chirps Elle...she finds out that he is engaged to an old flame from prep school who is also a classmate, Vivian Kensington.
If you want to find out what happened you will have to watch the movie. If you like the music from this movie, there is a soundtrack available. "Legally Blonde" could have been totally silly and air-headed; but Reese Witherspoon keeps it solidly together. This is a funny movie which held my interest all the way through. Even more than that, it's a movie that I've seen more than once. I give this movie my recommendation.
This movie is rated PG-13.

Yes, a young Reese in a very funny role. Another good one is "Election" starring a very young Reese Witherspoon along with Mathew Broderick as her teacher.
If you have not seen this one check it out!
