A miracle rescue story from Alaska

A male hiker whose name was not released is one lucky person who had the misfortune of being buried in two to three feet of snow at Flattop Mountain in Alaska for a period of one hour being buried upside down.
The saving grace was a young man named Alex K who was in the area one hour later when he noticed the legs of someone sticking out of the snow.
Alex K decided to do what was right by using his bare hands to dig the snow away from the hiker who was trapped underneath the snow. He was able to breathe since there was a pocket of air where he could breathe since the size of the blocks from the avalanche were huge.
Alex K was able to call 911 to report the rescue of the hiker who was awake and had been suffering from hypothermia.
The medical team met Alex and the hiker at the parking area below the hiking area to take the hiker to receive medical help from his near death experience.
It is nice to see a young man use his skills to free a hiker who is very grateful that he was rescued after one hour buried in debris from an avalanche which can be deadly when anyone of us is in its path.

I agree with you since he had an air space to breathe which kept him alive for that one hour until he was rescued.

Most people who get covered in snow in an avalanche usually wind up passing away.

That is true since I am scared of avalanches myself.

The hiker should be so thankful that Alex was around to save his life.

I am sure when the hiker sees Alex once again, he will thank him for saving his life.

I agree with you that avalanches are even more dangerous to be in than floods.
