Wait, I don't need a cucumber for this recipe!

Last night, before I went to sleep, I set an alarm for this morning and used the note feature that will display the note when my alarm rings. I actually woke up before my alarm went off but didn't turn it off because I knew I had that note on there, and figured it would help me when I began to make my list. The note was simply a potato, a peanut for peanut butter and a cucumber. I think my half asleep brain thought that the cucumber signified sugar. Let me clarify, these were all emoticons and not written out. I don't often use emoticons besides the smiley and laughing face. I woke up this morning scratching my head over what the cucumber was meant to signify. I quickly remembered that i had planned to get another bag of confectioner's sugar. Oh well, I'm off to the store now, list in hand! What is the craziest thing your half asleep mind has done?

My half asleep mind one morning made me count the steps going down to the kitchen wrong. So I turned right on the wrong step, badly hit my knee on the corer of the stairs, lost my balance and fall.

@Tampa_girl7 Thank you Marie. It happened two years ago and it was the 31st of December, I was pretty badly hurt, I need physiotherapy, but they fixed my knee and my shoulder.

About three nights after I moved into my new apartment, I was asleep and woke to hear a noise coming from the direction of the front door. I was thoroughly convinced someone was trying to get in the front door. I live alone, so that wouldn't be a good thing. I very calmly grabbed my bat, and headed to the door to tell whoever this was to go away. I wasn't even scared. And it's not like I've had any prior experience with this sort of thing to where it would make sense for me to be acting like it was "no big deal." Thankfully, I've never had a break-in. Fortunately, before I beat the living daylights out of some imaginary intruder, I realized the noise was the ice maker in my 'fridge, which is near the front door, so I just went back to sleep. I probably would have forgotten it ever happened, except that I nearly tripped over my bat when I got out of bed the next morning.

I am just watching a movie the way you narrate your experience halfway sleeping. I imagine how you carry a baseball tiptoeing to the door.

@jennspoint I have actually done something similar to that, but it was broad daylight. This happened several years ago now. I was in the den with my uncle and we were watching the television. We suddenly hear the slamming of the screen door and the front door wide open. Our baseball bats are in the closet past the front door, but there are some golf clubs right across from the front door. I grabbed one and walked down the hall to check on my sleeping grandmother. She was wide awake having heard the same thing. I checked all the rooms down the hall and through the rest of the house. Our verdict? My grandfather had not shut the front door all the way and a gust of wind blew the screen door shut, which slammed the front door open. It was a terrifying experience though. I'm glad it was just the icemaker for you. Our dishwasher makes strange noises when cleaning that I still haven't gotten used to several years later.

I am pretty sure I've thought of something I could post on mylot when I was half asleep once, I feel like I woke up in the morning and looked for the discussion only to find that I hadn't written it yet!

Yes! I needed to get the rest of the stuff today as tomorrow or the next day would be too inconvenient, and I need to make the recipe Friday morning.

@Tampa_girl7 I will make it tonight. Going to put the butter out to soften for a few hours, and after dinner I'll make it.
