Years ago I happened on a magazine when I was snooping in an antiques store. I have a particular fondness for the Ideals magazines. Many of you probably have not heard of it. Through the years I'd run into old copies and I'd give them to my Mom for a gift.
The Ideals magazine always had fantastic illustrations and little tidbits of information. At Christmas there would be a feature on what different cultures did to celebrate. Totally charming. Uplifting and eye catching.
The illustration in the photo is from 1948. It shows Santa discovering a tiny kitten. All the hustle and bustle of his reindeer and the elves going on around him. Magical and captivating to me. I hope you enjoy it! I have a photo of Santa's face on the cover if you'd like to see it.

I've heard of Ideals Magazine. That's a nice, Christmassy picture.

@LindaOhio The other illustrations in the magazine stop me in my tracks. Italian artistic renderings of Mary and the nativity scene and photos of children waiting by the fireplace.

@sallypup Is Ideals even published anymore? It's probably not the type of magazine that would survive in today's world.

@LindaOHio I was surprised to find that Ideals has a Facebook page. I think some of the political vitriol is working on people's nerves. More folks appear to be asking for others to send them old fashioned Christmas cards lately.
