2019 - Spoiler alerts Actually I'm not going to spoil this film as it is a traditional whodunnit with some modern twists and revealing who did it would be a step too far. Basically, a very rich crime writer (Christopher Plummer) has died, and though it looks like suicide, someone anonymously hires a private detective to check into whether it was really murder. The detective played wonderfully by a scene stealing Daniel Craig with an absurd but appealing southern accent, begins to peel through the feuding family's layers of greed and selfishness - the knives of the title refers as much to their cynical barbed way of cutting into one another's feelings as actual sharp blades. The cast is very A List, with Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, Don Johnson, and Jamie Lee Curtis among the suspects in a perfectly cast drama. Trailers make this look like a comedy and though very funny it is really a very tense drama and genuinely ingenious mystery too. A real gem of a movie. Youtube - Tavares song Whodunnit Arthur Chappell
