Get down on one knee. An engagement ring. Or not.

As I watch more and more romantic American movies, I am more aware that a lot of American men ask a woman for marriage with a knee on the ground and a diamond ring in their hands. It is not so in my country and I often wonder how many countries follow that use. Did your husband to be kneel down to ask you for marriage? How was it?

I will say when my ex asked me to marry him he did not do it this way he brought the ring to bed with us and the next morning he popped the question when we woke up

Yes! That’s the only way to do it here. How are proposals made in your country?

It depends on the couple. But the actual engagement is more of a social situation prior to marriage.

No mine did not. I think it depends on the person, the place and timing or how they feel about it.

That does not happen in my country although the engagement ring can be given in another way.

My husband didn't; but it is a custom in the United States.

NO, this is not something that Italians do, both men and women would consider this pretty "ridiculous".
