Bluetooth Speaker

United States

A few days ago I posted a discussion wondering about what my friend bought me. I told you that I had asked her for a bluetooth speaker (amongst other things) and that she had informed me "I got a good deal on your gift." Well, we opened presents on Saturday and I got a JBL bluetooth speaker from her. It's a in a pretty seafoam color that I love. I've been using it even as it charges, and I can't say enough how happy I am to have it. I don't know that I will ever jump on the smart speaker bandwagon, even if I have seen others using it and loving it. I got several other gifts, but I won't mention them here, don't think anyone really cares, do they? Do you use a bluetooth speaker or a smart speaker?

We have a blue tooth speaker for both four wheelers. We use them at work too.

This is my second one. I had one that was pretty low quality. Been wanting one so I can listen to a few podcasts I've been wanting to catch up with.

@thislittlepennyearns $40 isn't a bad price for a completely waterproof one. The model of bluetooth I have retails for about $36.00 normally and it's not waterproof.

@ScribbledAdNauseum we have a completely waterproof one that I paid like 40 for at walmart when we went to Alabama for chris birthday trip at the mudding park and then one that is just water resistant. The just water resistant one needs to be replaced because it's been dunked a few times.

I have one bluetooth speaker that my daughter has pretty much claimed as her own. I'm okay with that, as she definitely gets more use out of it than I do. My son and I were just talking about bluetooth speakers on our camping trip this past weekend, as he suggested we should get one to have on hand for future camping trips. I agreed with him, so I'll keep an eye out for some upcoming good deals on one. I am not a fan of most smart gadgets, I am still old school in the thought that God gave me two perfectly good arms and legs, and so I can easily use them to turn lights on and off, or to answer my door, or to change the thermostat on my A/C. Plus, I'm still a little convinced that people are being spied on through their smart devices. But let's be honest....eventually I will give in and convert my home to a smart home. But I'm going to resist for as long as I can! haha

@thislittlepennyearns All my tools are DeWalt cordless tools, and I've been checking out a DeWalt bluetooth speaker that will run off the same batteries I use for my tools. It's currently $99. Waiting to see if it will go on sale.

@thislittlepennyearns I've always been a Milwaukee tool guy myself, but in the last couple of years I've switched to DeWalt. Milwaukee is owned by TTI, a Chinese company now. At least DeWalt is still American owned. Kobalt is Lowe's brand of tools. I wonder which company makes the tools for them, or if Kobalt manufacturers all their own stuff. I'll have to look it up.

Lowes has a cool one. Its really jobsite one but it would probably work for camping.

There are some good podcasts I've wanted to listen to. One is a dystopian universe kind of thing.

@Tina30219 Thank You! I wish there were more book related podcasts. I mean, podcasts of different books being narrated.

Yes. I was so eager to get home to try it out. I had considered pulling it out at my friend's and charging it there, but I waited until she brought me home this morning.

@JustBhem The sound quality is awesome. I don't turn it up too loud, just enough for me to hear it comfortably. I

I am so un techy that I do not know why I would want a blue tooth speaker. I definitely do not want a smart speaker cause I am afraid it would spy on me.

I am using mine for podcasts and for music. That way I am not having to stare at a screen or use my phone when I don't really want to.

I have several cheap Chinese made BT speakers and I would say they are pretty decent for the price. Some came as freebies when we bought smart phones, only problem is they get lobat fast. I'm sure your branded ones would perform better.

Chinese made items aren't the best quality. I feel like they send the best quality to those countries they trade with, but even then they don't last very long.
