Have you ever met a good samaritan, I did.

It was 28th May 1978, I can't forget the date because that was the day when I left the shores of my country to land on the shores of alien country for the first time. We landed on Lagos airport at about 8.OO in the evening. Being first time in other's country made me little bit worried but was confident that some body will be there to receive me as per the terms of contract and I had conveyed the date and other details of my arrival by telegram well in advance. On landing I looked all over but nobody was there looking for me. I was really worried because I had no money in my pocket except for $6 dollars which was the only amount I was allowed to carry with me while departing from India due to foreign exchange shortage in the country. Six dollars I had were equivalent to just 4 Nairas and were not sufficient to take a decent dinner leave alone one nights stay in the area. Nobody was there to receive me because they did not get my telegram because of poor telecommunication system. I could not call also because telephones were almost non existent at that time. While I was moving here and there looking for some help, a gentleman came to me asked what I was looking for, When I told him everything he told me nobody will be here because they have not received your telegram and you have to spend your night on airport itself You can't go out because it is full of rogues and criminals who are armed. Country had just gone through a bad civil war and arms were freely available everywhere. The gentleman was an Indian doctor from Kerala state who was working here on contract. He had come to the airport to receive his wife, who did not turn up, again communication gap and he was a good samaritan to me. He took care of me all the way. My destination was Ilorin, the capital of Kwara state which was about 300 kms from Lagos. Next day morning he gave me the breakfast, took me by his car to Ibadan, A city in between, from where he was to take a different route. Showed me the taxi to go to Ilorin gave me sufficient money to take care of my transport thus I finally reached my destination. Don't you think he is a real good samaritan everybody talk about? Did you come across any such Incident? Did you meet any such good samaritan?
