I asked for books, and I got ‘em

Anyone familiar with the book genre of “cozy mysteries”? I wasn’t until just a few days ago. I whined to my friend that I am almost out of books (I had about 3 not so easy reads left over on my book shelf to read), so she solved my problem and gave me a paper bag full of paperbacks. “Cozy Mysteries” are the genre. To my understanding, basically light-hearted mystery books that are not gritty or gruesome, but funny and cute (?). I have already read one that was pretty cute - an easy read - and maybe a reading “palette cleanser” (know what I mean?). Now I have about 25 more to read. Which is fine by me! This is not a genre I would delve into on my own accord, so it’s kind of a nice change of pace from what I normally read. Do you ever read “cozy mysteries”? Any authors or ones you would suggest?

I don’t think I have read any cozy mysteries but I read so much that I can’t keep up with all the genres I read

That is awesome! I am not positive if I read any cozy mysteries or not. I have never heard of them before now. I don't usually know what genre the books are that I read though.

@maezee by author, topic of the book like serial killers etc, or cover. I never buy myself books anymore. I get so many free at Little free libraries, yard sales, from friends etc. I have hundreds.

How do you pick the books you read? Just based on how the cover looks, what's on sale, or what's your method?

I’m pretty open minded too! So I don’t mind. I’m reading one called “A Sheetcake named Desire” and it’s actually pretty good!

I tend to agree, and I like the disturbing/gory/weird. But free is free, so I am going to try to read as many as possible lol
