A successful science fiction writer, John Henderson, is going through his second divorce. He has to say of his marriage, "She brought a lot of great furniture to the marriage". John calls his mother because he feels that all his problems with women started with her. He wants to figure it all out...why women won't encourage or support him. He's going to try an experiment and move back in with his widowed mother and get it right this time.
John takes his old room in his mother's house. He is sitting in the kitchen; and Beatrice wants to make him something to eat. John is a vegetarian. His mother keeps salads in the freezer along with a giant block of Swiss cheese; and she buys Sweet Tooth orange sherbet. When her son comments that the sherbet looks old, she claims that the top of the sherbet is covered with a "protective ice coating". Beatrice knows how to push every one of John's buttons; and they get into this big discussion of food and how he likes his food kept separate from non-vegetarian food and on and on.
Yes, John's mother drives him crazy; but if he wants to succeed in his next relationship, he has to learn how to deal with it. John is going to find something out about his mother that he never knew. If you are an Albert Brooks fan, I think you will definitely enjoy this movie. If you want to see how it all turns out, I suggest that you pick up a copy and watch it with your significant other and older family members.
This movie is rated PG-13.

It sounds interesting and something I would want to see. I just checked Netflix but did not see it. Maybe it will come here and maybe it will not.
