Is sugar as dangerous as tobacco?

It seems so! The most dangerous is the white sugar.. One of the nature advizers I got help from told me, that it is "poison for the kidneys" - many already know that - but here is an article that is telling us more we may need to know.

I cut out all sugar except for natural sugars in fruit, and lost 25 pounds in two months. I read a book about it, and tried it. Excess sugar can also lead to dementia new studies say. My mom was addicted to sugar, and look what happened to her; she was diagnosed with dementia at the age of 46.

@LadyDuck It could be. My mom was going to get dementia sugar or no sugar. An MRI 15 years prior showed her dementia would be early on set. But excess sugar and artificial sweeteners have been linked so it's not impossible to think it could have made it worse. She loved Diet Coke. But artificial sweeteners that make it count as diet are terrible for the brain. I don't mean like one Diet Coke a week, but like 2 Diet Cokes a day. Unless you are diabetic, regular soda is better for you because when you put sugar against artificial sweeteners, although both are bad for you, artificial sweeteners are worse.

I have read about sugar and dementia and I wonder if countries where people drink so many sodas have more cases.

I watched a documentary about it. It seems that sugar is dangerous. However, in my opinion, if you don't eat a lot of sugar, I think it is totally fine. Actually we need the sugar. It can be also good for the liver. I personally think it can improve your mood, too.

We can eat a little honey and Stevia, an herb that tastes very sweet but has no sugar and also a little brown, or cane sugar with the original minerals not removed from the sugar cane.. most fruit has sugar too.
