And my brother was very sad because what he really wanted to et was not on the menu. I asked him what did he want and, sure enough, they had it. He had overlooked it. Besides the duck, he asked for a delicious eggplant and ginger flambeed dish. We had fun. My brother said he was coming to get some apricots tomorrow. It is very late. Tomorrow, Claudia is coming with the kids. Vicente will do some gardening. Sleep tight. See you.

@marguicha it's not easy to make fried rice the Chinese way. When I want one we just buy from the Chinese restaurant in the city.

Chinese cuisine is a constant in Philippine food. We love pancit and all the oil-based saucy and spicy and mouthwatering Chinese concoctions. I don't eat Peking duck though. Eggplant is always a good side dish.

This duck had little rice pancakes on the side, some finely cut bunch onions and plum jam.

@marguicha That sounds palatable. My stomach just grumbled, ha ha. Now you just compelled me to hit the kitchen and eat my lunch.

There are many animals that I eat without visualizing them alive. I love bunnies and I like to eat rabbit.

@LadyDuck It is difficult here to buy lamb. It is a expensive meat. But I love it and when I eat it I do not think for a moment about "Mary had a little lamb"

@marguicha There are some animals that I cannot eat because I see them every day from my windows and I see ducks and lambs.

My #1 favorite restaurants in the Philippines are Chinese's! But no duck for me. I like their shanghai fried rice, beef noodles, seafoods, veggies and dimsums.

@marguicha duck dish is not common food at my place but I've already tasted it in Northern part of the Philippines where duck meat is common.

I hope you like the Chinese food in the Chinese restaurant. I don't know which kind of Chinese food they offer there. In fact we basically have 8 types Chinese food. Each one stands for a part of China. Such as a certain area will have salty food, some areas will have spicy food etc.

I don´t know because I´m sure that Chinese food changes abroad to meet the wishes of the people who eat. But I liked it very much. The duck was braised and served over a stove so that it would not get cold. There were little rice pancakes and long thin pieces of bunch onion and cucumber and plum jam.
