A Christmas Baby

My daughter was born on 21st December back in 1986 so is 33 today. That was the best Christmas ever. She is married now and lives some distance away so I won't see her although I have sent gifts in the post.
How I miss those days when she was little and living with me, excitedly opening her presents and having friends round for her birthday tea. I know children have to grow up and fly the nest but in my mind I still see her as a little girl.
Happy birthday Nicky, have a great day

Her husband has taken her to a place called Bournemouth where they have a cat cafe. Cats are allowed to wander around the place. She loves it.

@LadyDuck I've never been to one but I would love to. My daughter and her husband recently got a cat. They love her to bits.

@sprite1950 True. The children don't really remember their toddlerhood, the childhood, the first steps, the first words. the birthday parties. Perhaps we need to write down the stories, so the children will know.

Thank you. I was talking to her today and she says she is full of cold! She lives in Portsmouth which is where her husband comes from and she moved there after they got married. It's not too far but still a 2 hour drive from me.

@sprite1950 I'm lucky, my daughter lives 9 miles away and my son just a mile so we'll all be together tomorrow.

A very happy birthday to your daughter. Wishing her loads of luck and health.
Our little ones always stay as our little ones no matter how much they grow up. I feel that time flies. My daughters are now beautiful teens and it seems it's just yesterday that they were in cradles with their chubby smiles.

Thank you so much. We have talked on the phone today and she will be visiting in the New Year so we can catch up then. This year she is with her husband's family. At least we have our memories of when they were little.

@sprite1950 Good that she will be with you on New Year. For me my elder one will leave for college in 2022. I am already scared of that empty nest syndrome.
Those memories mean a world to mother.

@arunima25 Yes it is hard when they flee the nest. I hated it when my daughter left but she has done well since so I shouldn't complain.

Yes but you can't keep them little forever and she was a lovely little girl who has grown into a well balanced adult.

Indeed. It's hard to believe that some women hurt their children but there are those that do.
