What is real Love? Can it be stopped by the Law?

The law is still the law in whatever language it is written.

A parable on Law and Love Love lives in everyone. Law only lives in those who know the law, that particular law, and yet, love gives us an innate knowledge of what is right and wrong, or love and non-love too. Charles loved Susan with all his heart, but when she left him for Norman, he applied the full force of the law onto her then. He took the house, and he kept their son with himself. Susan only had visiting rights, once a week. This upset her, but she allowed it out of regret, and of her still loving Charles. Whose love was real love, here then? Only Susan's love was real here. It was flexible enough to live still, while being restrained by laws. Charle's love was inflexible, and lived no more. Love, real love, lives from itself, not from any laws. No law can ever restrain true love. It has its own way. It has its own language. It needs no laws to live in us. Love is just love.

I agree that Susan's love was more authentic because it was flexible, but it was also patient. She showed more emotional intelligence because she felt guilt and understood Charles's anger. Great in sight!

Thanks for commenting. Yes, l agree with you, patience is a big part of real love too. Charles could also learn that forgiveness is also a part of real love, as well.

@Nakachan Yes, hopefully so. Bitterness lingers though, but hopefully Susan's real love will help him to heal. If Susan had also been bitter, neither side might ever heal. There is at least a chance for healing still now.

I like to comfort myself when people are less than fair that it takes all kinds to make a world. I believe this world is more of a learning school, experience. This helps me to move on and accept the quirks in human behavior. Real love can help us to move on rather than drown in regrets and misery. It is above manmade law and societal norms - siva

Real love is the teacher, the tutor, the guide, and the mentor. Another name for real love is God. He is the headmaster of all. Yes, moving on always takes real love to help us to move on. Otherwise, some form of distorted love, or some other emotion, will act as a chain on our life to hold us back, from moving on.

@Shiva49 Yes, you are right there I think. Love becomes strong in action, and remains effectively weak in inaction.

@innertalks That brings to my mind what Gandhi said: "The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.". I would add that is love in action - siva
