Sadie and Annabelle

So, most of those who follow me here know I have an almost nine year old Chihuahua named Annabelle (on the right in picture). The dog on the left is my newly adopted dog, 7 year old Sadie. I got her the day before Thanksgiving on a trial basis. Two days after she arrived I noticed blood on my sheets. Long story short the poor thing had a urinary tract infection. She's now officially okay. It has taken a long time for Sadie to warm up to Annabelle. All Annabelle wants to do is play and give her kisses. But although Sadie was/is a love bug with me from the beginning, she growled at Annabelle. Fortunately, things have improved, and now I know I can keep Sadie and it will be beneficial for Annabelle too.

I hope that they learn to love each other soon enough like 2 good family members should.

Annabelle loves her, and I think Sadie LIKES her now. But Sadie thinks she is alpha. Anywhere Annabelle pees outside Sadie has to go over and pee right on top of it. It's hilarious. She's a girl, but she hikes her back leg like a male dog would. I am glad they are getting along because I can't keep a dog that would bully Annabelle.

@AmbiePam They are very cute. I can see why it took time for Sadie to warm up to Annabelle. I am glad Sadie is ok. Maybe Sadie wants the only attention. I am so glad now they get along and you can keep Sadie so Annabelle will have a playmate.

It is good that they are fairly close in age. Funny how we do things on trial and they end up permanent.

Animals are like people in a sense Sadie probably said I love you but who the heck is this and Sadie probably wanted all the attention to themselves but I guess Annabelle had to grow on them I am glad Sadie warmed up to the to the other dog and all is well in the household now.
