The week is coming to a close and many are heading back to work today or Monday and will be back to a regular schedule. We went to Baton Rouge yesterday for a follow up appointment with neurologist that saw mom in the hospital. This was pretty much a wasted trip as Ms. Cell Phone Nurse had appointment down for "CT scan." The scan was supposed to already been done for the doctor to see results. So we have to go back to Baton Rouge next week and have the CT scan. The doctor will call if there are any concerns. If not, we are in the clear. This is most aggravating to say the least. We will be staying home and inside today as we have thunderstorms in the forecast. I know I need the rest as I didn't sleep well at al last night. Going to have another cup of much needed coffee! How is your day going? Are you back to your regular routine? Photo: Pixabay, public domain

What a nasty waste of time. I hope the CT scan goes well. My routine never changed.

one'd think the doc's office would'a called prior to the 'ppointment to see why the ct 'd not been done yet? oh wait, that'd required 'em to e'en check, eh? i get so frustrated with the medical community these days. hopefully all'll be well though once such's finally tended. i've 'd a couple 'f "off" days due to the weather. i'd not know a 'regular routine' if'n such jumped'p 'n bit me. i do long fer the day though!

What really got me was the automated phone call that came the day before the appointment after 5 pm. They also noted that cancellations under a 24 hr period to appointment time will be charged. Yet their call came at time that was already too late to cancel. Good think I had it on my calendar and was prepared to go!! I think a lot of these places are crooked with billing medicare and Medicaid wrong, and not really caring a flip about patients. It's all about the bottom line and profit.

@crazyhorseladycx Yep, it is a shame all of the fraud that goes on these days. Just think of the benefits that people that really needed them could have if all of the fraudulent charges were not made!

@kareng i dislike those auto calls'n text messages. yepperz, not the doc's so much's the office manager who's job's to run a tight ship 'n fill e'ery possible slot fer maximum income. the bad thingy 'bout 'em billin' to medicare 'n medicaid 'tis ya ne'er seen'n itemized bill yerself 'nless ya demand such. that way y'ave no idea what the charges 'd be'n fer what. insurance companies jest check fer proper codin' 'n pay with no queries.

How long of a drive is it going back and forth from where you live to Baton Rouge? I feel bad for the fact that you have to go back again because of a mixup on the nurses's part.

Two hours to south Baton Rouge where appointment was. It was okay yesterday because I went by my other daughter's house and picked her up. We didn't get to see her on Christmas Day. She goes with us when she can whenever we have to go upstairs or have parking issues. That way I can drop them off at the door and then go park.

We will be back to work on 2 January. So still few more days of holidays. Sorry that you had to suffer due to the phone nurse. Stay safe indoors when there is a thunderstorm warning.

You have a nice and long holiday break! When I worked at Louisiana State University we were off from Christmas Eve until after New Years. It was a nice break. Yep, today is a take it easy day with just normal chores that have to be done.

I don't think we'll be back to normal for at least another couple of weeks but that's okay. Better than being bored I guess but it's always nice to get back to a routine.

I agree. We still haven't had Christmas with my oldest daughter's family because of shared custody with her oldest and his two sons. I think we have it figured out now.

She is, however, I think this incidence really worked on her memory and that is worse. Who knows, could just be a change that was going to happen anyway.
