Putting some things away...

Photo I took of three of the Nativities in their boxes

I cleaned up a few of the Nativity Scenes and put them away--I have one to go that I can think of. Haven't gotten to the tree yet, either, but maybe tomorrow. While I was trying to get this photo (taken with my phone; I still prefer my camera, which I can't find), the pastor's wife called, (returning a call I sent her) and we chatted about our Christmases, and possible future plans about getting together. I'm still moving kind of slowly--like I wrote, I probably won't get to taking down the tree or the larger Nativity scene until tomorrow.

In another post, I had read about the removing of the Christmas decorations. I understand that Christmas is over. But here the decorations will be removed after the New Year.

Yeah, it depends on my mood as far as when to remove them. The tree is still up.

@xstitcher ah so, it is the mood that dictates the clean up, waheehee. In the days between Christmas and new year, it is our relaxing days but usually there are social obligations. It is good that in our tradition the decorations stay until after new year otherwise we might not be able to remove everything.

I don't understand the rush everyone is in to take Christmas down.

I don't have anything to take down really. Just the wreath on the door but I made that myself so I'll leave it for a couple of days

I don't do too much--I didn't even put up all of the decor I usually do.

You're way ahead of me! I'm the kind of person that if I put things away and neaten things up I can never find anything again. Very often you'll find me in the middle of my room yelling "Everything I own is lost!!!" I'm still looking for a couple of items of communications that are rather important...I know they're somewhere in the mess and one day I'll find them when I'm looking for something else. I would so love to be organized. I was close to that point when PG&E burned down my house. I had my bear patterns filed under size and name, I had my supplies sorted into the various classifications...joints and hardware for doing the jointing, eyes, noses, sewing needles, threads etc. I had the furs sorted into types, colors, suppliers, lengths, fur lengths and more. It was so nice to be able to go into the stock room and reach into a stack and get exactly what I wanted...until it was all burned to the ground. So the challenge now is to sort again. It will take more time because of my fractured back and neck. I can't stand for long periods of time or look down for long periods of time...so it's a case of just doing a little at a time and hoping. I haven't even started on putting away all the Christmas stuff yet. As for taking pictures, I have to sort through the pictures on the computer to free up space so that it can update my various programs. I've been too worn out from the pain in my back and neck to bother with sorting through the pictures on the computer. But I console myself with the fact that there always is tomorrow.
