I may have miscalculated

United States
December 27, 2019 5:20pm CST
Well, I'm almost done. I moved my bed over to the other wall, moved the shelf over to the wall I wanted it. Now I need to clean the shelf off, vacuum the floor around it and then start moving books over from the other shelf. I might have miscalculated slightly how far my bed would come towards the closet but that is okay. The closet can still open just fine. I did calculate how much space I would have from the far wall to the foot of my bed though. Nope, still no pictures as it's nowhere near where I need it / want it to be. I'm just taking a break because I am tired. I broke down and took an aspirin before I started working at this because I knew it was going to be strenuous. It's well worth it though. What's going on in your world?

That's a good deal of moving around. I had joined two single beds to make a double bed last year. I developed soreness in my limbs after that.

Yes, my back is a little sore this morning but not too bad. Moving things around, lifting things etc can be stressful to the back for sure.

I am still thinking of the food for our New year, aside from that my breakfast for today.

Oh I see. Well I hope you enjoy whatever you end up eating. I may make chicken to go with the rest instead of pork, I am not sure.

@JustBhem Oh yum. I like eating a hot dog from time to time. I like mustard, relish and onion on mine.

I love changing my bedroom around and do it frequently. It's surprising how dusty and dirty it can get in a short while.

@sprite1950 Well, it's nearly a new year. I say it's a great time to do it.

Yes, I agree with you there. Dust seems to accumulate very quickly. I'm about to head back in there and do the vacuuming and then moving some things from my old shelf to the new one, then move that shelf and do more vacuuming. I'll be happy when it's all done.

I am taking frequent breaks in between. At the moment I need to clean off one more shelf of my old bookcase. After that I just need to take it out of my room and put it in another for use by a family member. I will then vacuum that area of the floor and I will be done for now. There are still things I want / need to get, but I will wait for another day to worry about those things.

@LadyDuck That will be good. I have been thinking of how I might rearrange some shelves in the closet of my bathroom to make room for other things.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I cleaned the bathroom cabinets, I took out everything and reorganized the shelves and drawers. Tomorrow I will do this with the bedroom drawers.

I haven't moved my bed in years. Maybe I should. My biggest event of the day? Ordering a copy of my birth certificate so I can get my "REAL ID," whatever that is.

Everyone I know is getting one of those... I haven't decided whether I want to or not.

@TheHorse Several people I know are getting them because they travel a lot, mostly on cruises.

@ScribbledAdNauseum If you want to travel, it's apparently a good idea. But a current passport may be good enough. I let mine expire.

I didn't have room to have anyone help me. I had to move things in front of the door just so that I could move the bed to the other wall.

@Butterfingers Besides, the person I would have asked already helped me by spending an hour just building a bookcase for me.

We haven't really changed much in our room in a while. My kids have changed things around in their room in the last few months. They seem to enjoy changing things up a bit, which is fine. I can totally understand.

I did a lot of changing around when I was a kid. My brother used to help me sometimes too. I remember when I was able to put a chair from our living room into my room. I think I was about 12 and super excited to be able to do that.

I always find the first night's sleep is hard. It seems odd laying in a different area, and so it usually takes me an hour to get to sleep. It was the same last night.

When I would rearrange the bedroom or the living room, I always use the tape measure just to be sure of how much space would be left.

I used the tape measure on one direction, but not the other. It's not too bad though.

Be careful of your back when you move furniture around.

I was as careful as I could be. I am not feeling any pain, but I will put an ice pack on my back in a little while and rest, just to be safe.

I was, thank you. I still have to move some shelves, but I'll clean those off and it won't be as hard to move. I am going to put an ice pack on my back even though it doesn't hurt so bad, just to be on the safe side. I pushed and pulled the mattress and box spring inch by inch, which was easier. I usually pick them up and then move them individually which is a lot harder and heavier. No bed frame to move, which was good.
