"Nine to Five" is a comedy that was released in 1980. The movie was met by mostly positive reviews. It ranked #74 on the American Film Institute's "100 Funniest Movies". The budget for the film was $10 million; and the box office receipts were $103.3 million. CAST Jane Fonda - Judy Bernly Lily Tomlin - Violet Newstead Dolly Parton - Doralee Rhodes Dabney Coleman - Franklin M. Hart, Jr. Sterling Hayden - Russell Tinsworthy Elizabeth Wilson - Roz Keith Henry Jones - Mr. Hinkle Lawrence Pressman - Dick Bernly Marian Mercer - Missy Hart Ren Woods - Barbara Judy Bernly is a new employee of Consolidated Industries. Her husband, Dick, left her for his secretary, Liza. Judy meets Violet, the supervisor of her department and employee of twelve years. Violet is a widow with four children and is the one that trained Franklin Hart. She actually has seniority over Hart; but she has been passed over for promotions because she is a woman. Judy is then introduced to Franklin Hart, the arrogant, sexist bigot. Judy meets Doralee Rhodes, Hart's personal secretary. She is happily married to construction worker and part-time country-western singer named Dwayne. Hart constantly makes inappropriate advances toward Doralee and also tells his colleagues that he's sleeping with her. Doralee doesn't understand why the women in the office treat her rudely. Initially Judy brushes off any effort that Doralee makes to be friendly. Time passes; and Violet is again passed over for a promotion. Her ideas were good enough that Hart passes one off as his own and takes full credit for it. Hart bluntly tells Violet that they would prefer a man for the position. Violet storms out but not before she tells Doralee that everyone knows about her affair with Hart. Doralee snaps and tells Hart that she'll use a gun the next time he makes an indecent proposal and change him from a rooster to a hen with one shot. Hart takes it out on Maria, a dedicated employee, by firing her. Judy, Violet and Doralee storm out of the office. If you want to find out what happens next, you will have to watch the movie. I can tell you that Dolly Parton is a real natural in this film. This isn't an award-winner; and some of the scenarios are quite hard to believe; but it's a funny movie and entertaining to watch. For that reason I recommend "Nine to Five". This movie is rated PG. Photo Credit: Pixabay

I can’t remember if I saw it, but know the music extremely well. I actually modeled to it back in the day.
