Staying up to late to watch a film

I'm tired today because I wanted to stay up and watch The Green Mile, one of my favourite films based on the Stephen King novel and focusing on prisoners awaiting execution on Death Row.. It went on until 2 am but I only lasted until 1.30 am before I dropped off and missed the ending.Tom Hanks is one of my favourite actors, he is so versatile and can play any role.
I should have known better and recorded it as I'm shattered this morning. Early night for me with plenty of afternoon naps I think!

Is the book as good as the film?

It's pretty upsetting in parts as it shows men being executed in the electric chair but if you can get past that it's a really good film.

@LadyDuck I'm quite interested in true crime programmes and watch documentaries of people that have been caught after many years because we have have DNA testing.

@sprite1950 I also love those programs, unsolved mysteries and old crimes that are now solved thanks to the DNA testing.

It really is worth another watch although a little disturbing in parts. I had forgotten the bits about the electric chair when I saw it this time.

He was quite young in that film but I like all his films. He can play any part.

You really should watch it although it is disturbing in parts. I'm annoyed with myself that I fell asleep at the end.

Some films are worth staying up for (if you can stay awake long enough that is). I know that I always fall asleep before the end and then I wonder what happened.

I hate it when I do that but it was very late and I tend not to be a niught owl. I should have recorded it.

It's quite an old film and I've seen it before but it's one of those films I enjoy watching more than once.
