She should be banned from ever teaching or being employed or volunteer from any school!
In Utah there was a substitute teacher in an elementary school class just before Thanksgiving and she asked the class what they were thankful for this year. One boy raised his hand and told the class that he was thankful that his two father's were going to adopt him.
The teacher asked him why he would be happy about that because it was a sin for them to have a gay lifestyle and should not be allowed to adopt a child!
The kids in the class kept trying to change the subject , but it didn't work she kept going on lecturing this child!
A child got up and ran out the class and went and reported the incident to the principal. Who in turn came and escorted the woman from the school! However, yes this has made the news and other media and the boys family name was included but the person that was in the wrong, the teacher's name has been kept private!
Each person has a right to their opinion, but does not have the right to lecture someone, especially a child and in her work place, so how does she deserve privacy!

That was terrible for her to do. As a science teacher I have my own views on religion, termination of pregnancy, evolution, etc. but I don't share them with my students. I give them scientific information and leave it to them to figure out what they believe.

I do think that each person has the right to their opinion. but if that was her opinion, she should have kept quiet.

My mother is a teacher, and this person does not deserve the respect and honor that comes with being an educator! Shame on her for being so judgmental and hurting the poor little boy like that. Who is she to judge? As a teacher you would think that she will have a better grasp at her opinions especially if it can potentially hurt anyone, especially one of her students. I am glad that the principal took action and I hope she apologizes to everyone in class, as well as to the parents of the young boy. Nobody should be subjected to that kind of ridicule, and the students do not deserve to hear her hateful arguments.

She should have NEVER let her personal beliefs get in the way of teaching and should never lecture a student because of those beliefs.
